Basic Template site

You will find the links to the right which will help me explain what I call a "Plain
Jane" site.  As you see the Basic Template site there,  is really plain and all white
with black text, this is to demonstrate that when you design a site, you are
starting with a blank canvas.
Something like this you can do yourself in just a few
minutes
with Sitebuilder and one of the "Prefab" templates, depending on how
much text there is involved, but no photos, unless you keep the stock images.. In
most cases you can just keep it simple and quick
Modified Basic Template

This is where you would take a basic site designed with a template and then add
artwork such as logos, photos, etc. If you already have these items, you can add
them yourself easily , however, this can increase the time it takes you to do this.
In the event that you don't have any artwork of your own, you can search the web
for it, just be careful about using copyrighted items, there are sites that will sell
you the rights to their photos. This "hunting can take a long time for just the right
image!

What to look for?

Both the star and the "Sale Splash" are additional art added to a standard
Sitebuilder template. Modification involves adding this type of artwork and
changing the stock photos to your own, when applicable.
SEO, Management and Promotion add-ons

This is one area that can get deep. If you look around this site you will see not
only the simple counter, and other standard Sitebuilder items available in the
add-on section, but the Google Page Rank indicator, which is also simple to do.
(see the links page) What is this for? The higher this number the better, but even
a 1 or 2 means you have something listed in the search engines.

However, there are many things you can do to make your site more visible on the
search engines that are not seen on the pages of your site. Go to the Add-Ons
Page for more info.

Plain Jane Websites Page

What is a Plain Jane Website?

My definition is simple, no frills, no bells, no whistles, nothing but a standard
rubber-stamp template. Yes, colors and such can be changed, but that is about
it. However, there are two levels of Plain Jane, see those descriptions below.
